DYSPORT®

Dysport® is the first FDA-approved alternative to Botox® Cosmetic for treatment of forehead creases and frown lines. Dysport® is offered to patients looking for a non-surgical method of facial rejuvenation. Dysport® contains a purified Clostridium botulinum protein.

How does it work?
Dysport® is injected with a fine needle directly into specific areas of the facial muscles that are causing the targeted wrinkles. Within several days the patient can see that the muscles will be weakened with optimal results after two weeks.

Are The Injections Painful?
Most patients do not require a topical anesthetic, but it is available if desired.

Are The Results Immediate?
Within several days to one week of the treatment, wrinkles soften and diminish as the treated muscles gradually relax. You will look younger while maintaining a natural expression because Dysport® should not affect your ability to blink or raise your eyebrows. Improvements can last about 4 months, after which you will need to return for a touch up.

Just after the injections of Dysport® you will see raised bumps at the injections site for several minutes which should be gone within a few minutes to an hour. There is minimal swelling so this can be done on a lunch hour.
